Shocking News, Zhu Yuling Left Out by China!

No room for Zhu Yuling in China’s Women’s Singles team for 2019 Worlds

There is some shocking news coming from China with Zhu Yuling missing out on a spot in the country’s Women’s Singles line-up for the upcoming 2019 World Table Tennis Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Runner-up in 2017 Zhu Yuling was widely anticipated to be given the chance to go one better this time around but that won’t be the case at next month’s event with China only including her in its squad as a doubles player.

World and Olympic champion Ding Ning makes the team as does 2018 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals winner Chen Meng. Liu Shiwen, Wang Manyu and Sun Yingsha round off China’s Women’s Singles line-up.

Why has Zhu Yuling been omitted from the singles line-up and what does this mean in the grand scheme of things moving forwards?
