Miu Hirano partnered up with fellow compatriot Mima Ito to win the Women’s Doubles title at the 2014 German Open, and become the youngest Doubles winners on the ITTF World Tour in the process. The same year Hirano and Ito became the youngest winners at a Grand Finals competition when they claimed the Women’s Doubles trophy.

Hirano won the Women’s World Cup in October 2016, and was named the 2016 ITTF Breakthrough Star of the year.
