Men’s Singles gold medal for Pak Sin Hyok in Pyongyang

Pak Sin Hyok has successfully put his disappointments of last year to rest, defeating¬†Kang Wi Hun in the Men’s Singles final at the 2017 Pyongyang Open.

The 2015 edition of the tournament saw Pak Sin Hyok lift the trophy but last year’s event proved disappointing for Pak Sin Hyok, while Kang Wi Hun went on to emerge successful.

However, one year on and the Men’s Singles gold medal is back with Pak Sin Hyok after he prevailed in an all-DPR Korea final.

Right from the opening stages of the tie Pak Sin Hyok looked the more confident of the two finalists, and it wasn’t too long before victory was sealed.

World No.83 Pak Sin Hyok stormed to a straight games triumph (11-6, 12-10, 11-6, 11-5) to reach the top step of the medals podium.
