The 2019 ITTF Challenge Plus Oman Open has concluded with Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-Ju and Japan’s Hina Hayata coming away with the Men’s and Women’s Singles titles in Muscat.

At the final hurdle of the Men’s Singles competition Lin Yun-Ju, seeded third, produced a stunning performance to defeat top seed Mattias Falck [SWE] across six games (11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 8-11, 11-8).

Victory for Lin Yun-Ju marks his first ever Men’s Singles title success at an ITTF Challenge Series event and also took home gold in the Men’s Doubles draw.

Winner of the Women’s Singles gold medal at the first-ever ITTF Challenge Plus competition just over a month ago, Hina Hayata once again took her spot on the top step of the medals podium with the ninth seed posting a five games victory over Chinese Taipei top seed Cheng I-Ching (11-3, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8).

Two ITTF Challenge Plus events completed, on both occasions Hina Hayata has prevailed.
