Lim Jonghoon has won his first trophy at senior level following an outstanding performance at the 2018 Polish Open in Spala.

Winner on multiple occasions at Under 21 level, Lim Jonghoon reached a new milestone in his table tennis career with his victory over Jang Woojin in an all-Korean final.

In the previous round Lim Jonghoon accounted for 15-year-old Cho Daeseong in straight games, but the gold medal contest proved to be much closer.

With Jang Woojin leading by two games to one Lim Jonghoon needed a quick response and that is exactly what he produced, claiming three of the next four games to seal a thrilling 4-3 win (3-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, 11-6).

Senior title No.1 for Lim Jonghoon, for Jang Woojin the wait for a second Men’s Singles trophy goes on with his previous success coming in 2016 at the Belarus Open.
