The 2018 Men’s World Cup has been presented to Fan Zhendong following an outstanding display from the top seeded player at Disneyland Paris.

Spectators packed the Disney Event Arena in the French capital to see two sporting titans go head-to-head for the title as China’s Fan Zhendong met Germany’s Timo Boll.

Earlier in the day Fan Zhendong held off fellow compatriot Lin Gaoyuan at the semi-finals stage of the competition with Timo Boll booking his spot in the gold medal match thanks to a superb showing against 2017 champion Dimitrij Ovtcharov.

Despite a tense start to the final World No.1 Fan Zhendong eventually reached top gear, seeing off his 37-year-old opponent across five games (11-9, 11-5, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8).

Fan Zhendong has now lifted the Men’s World Cup on two occasions with successful outings in 2016 and 2018.
