Lin Yun-Ju has captured his first Men’s Singles title on the ITTF World Tour following a fantastic display at the 2019 ITTF World Tour Czech Open in Olomouc.

2001 born super-talent from Chinese Taipei, Lin Yun-Ju met the “European King” Dimitrij Ovtcharov at the final hurdle in what was expected to be a tricky encounter for the upcoming star. However, the former World No.1 didn’t have enough to take down the 18 year-old on this occasion, losing 4-1 in a comfortable outing for Lin (11-9, 11-5, 4-11, 11-5, 11-9).

There is great excitement over the left-handed player from Asia, as to whether or not he can perhaps defy all the odds to become Olympic champion at Tokyo 2020 – A big ask but not completely beyond the realms of possibility.

In the Women’s Singles draw it was yet again Team China who took the crown as Chen Xingtong claimed yet again another ITTF World Tour title.

Emerging victorious over Japan’s Miu Hirano at the final hurdle, but it was no comfortable feat with the Chinese player pulling off a narrow 4-3 win in Olomouc (11-5, 11-8, 11-7, 8-11, 12-14, 8-11, 11-8).

Chen Xingtong has won back-to-back ITTF World Tour singles gold medals for the first time in her career and now holds a total number of four in her collection.
