Georgina Pota has won the Women’s Singles title at the 2019 ITTF Challenge Slovenia Open.

Seeded second for the event the Hungarian star pulled off an impressive comeback at the final hurdle in Otocec to lift her third singles trophy on the international stage.

Trailing by Ukraine’s Margaryta Pesotska by a 1-3 deficit Georgina Pota remained positive, fighting back with three consecutive game wins to finish ahead by a 4-3 score-line (6-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-5, 6-11, 11-9, 15-13).

The Men’s Singles trophy was awarded to Croatia’s Wei Shihao, who entered the tournament as an unseeded qualifier.

Sailing through to the final Wei Shihao met Polish No.12 seed Jakub Dyjas in an exciting encounter which saw the qualification hero emerge victorious 4-2 (13-11, 7-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-6, 11-4).

Crowned champion in Otocec, this marks Wei Shihao’s first singles title win at an ITTF Challenge event.
